"Dr E. von Martens on the occurrence of marine animal forms in fresh water" gives a pretty full list of all fresh water animals & shews how many species of the same genus which are marine in one part of the world, are fresh water in another part.

p. 56. he divides fishes into 55 families on these 16 exclusively live in the sea. 16 exclusively in fresh water; & 23 fams. have species living in both (this shews how easily a transition might be made from one to the other) In Crustacea out of 44 fams. 29 are confined to the sea; 3 to fresh water, & 10 common to both. Even in Mollusca there are 6 out of 52 fams. common to both.
