In Wed R'hir, an oasis in Grt. Sahara, going beneath level of Mediterranean, & associated with F. W. mollusca he found a Fish, the Haligenes Tristrami (Proc. Zoolog. Soc. 1859 Dr. Günther) which belongs to "the strictly marine family of the Chromidæ".— Probably as suggested, left by drying up of Tertiary Sea known to have covered the Sahara.—

New way of Fish being rendered F. W. the water wd change gradually.—
