P. 98 138 genera with winged seeds, 29 genera with elastic seed-vessels, 50 with hooks, (nota bene — the list is given in original). — 193 genera with some esculent substance;—

P. 100. alludes to many animals, and some birds which bury seeds, and are often killed by cats, weasels & Hawks & Owls so that seeds germinate; it is probable that some plants are almost exclusively generated this way.

P. 105.  Linn gives 86 genera of plants protected by thorns and spines.

Brand P. 107. A description of the moving powers of the oat, and of the crupina, a species of centaury.
