Athenæum - 45 - p. 590 Geograph Soc. June 9th. Mr. W. Earle remarks that a great bank stretch SE of Asia as far as the East end of Java & nearly to west of Celebes - & that another great Bank stretches along N. Coast of Australia & S. coast New Guinea, & that between these banks there is a band of about 450 miles of unfathomable water. Average Depth on the banks 30 - 40 fathoms.
