Athen 40 P. 848 In Ireland the Quail is stationary, certain birds more abundant than in England; Bats rare; - fresh-water fish rarish; squirrel, dormouse, pole-cat, mole, all species of arvicola absent; there is a mouse, and hare, and probably a sorex (Jennings) Hibernicus. - The Naterjack only found. Mr Vigors believes many common insects peculiar.
