Sillimans J. v. 27. p. 375 Mr Isaac Lea in his observations on the genus Unio in the Trans. of the American philosoph. Soc. says the Alleghany mountains almost entirely separate the species of river shells on opposite sides, whereas the land shells are the same on both sides. good.
