Sept. 1841. Gould showed me many beautiful representative species – (N.B. no Barriers in Australia) -two species meet in S. Australia (like my ostriches), one being otherwise peculiar to W & other to East - Of the bird that builds passages & collects feathers & bone (like Bizcacha) there are representative species, whose architecture varies a little - Is it mere preoccupation?
