Linn. Trans XIII. p. 349. D. Don Mon. on Saxifraga says S. ligulata is one of many instances which "manifests that striking similarity which exists between the vegetation of Nepal & that of the Northern regions of Tartary."
Saxifraga andicola is from the highest parts of Peru - Don remarks on interest of those species of those genera which are generally found in Northern regions being thus found in colder zones of Tropics
