Howe's isld very intermediate between Norfolk Isd Australia & New Zealand. Believes that Howe Isd has no New Zealand plants, which Norfolk Isd has not. Looks terribly like old extended land, or chains of islds. Like colours blending together by a brush & not found together as on back of book.

Hooker remarked that Dioicous & true Dichogamous plant is dreadfully opposed to accidental introduction. eheu eheu, how true. Hooker agrees with me - But I think, in spikelet all flowers not in same state

[Left margin:] New Caledonia - blends Polynesia with Australia with much peculiar. Think over Coral subsidence

[Right margin:] Yet continents opposed to so much subsidence
