Hooker Jan 47 Stocks & Migniotte become perennial at Van Diemen's land.

[insertion:] (copied)

The stock bears on the Sinapidendron, of the Canary Isd being perennial.

Hooker had the impudence to ask me why an alpine species wd not change, when sowed in the lowlands, & I having admitted that alpine varieties Balanophores monoƦcious, male & female in case, females are impregnated before males in same cases are ready

Hooker thinks there are not many cases in Plants like Camels & Guanaco -Thus Ripsalis is representative & nearest ally in old world of Cactus in new World, but Ripsalis is parasitic in damp forest -These is Geranium! & Stapelia at Cape of G. Hope which represents Cactus.

Make heading to each Section of Hostile facts, as Hydnora in Distribution - Many species in each genus on same island & especially not transition between Alpine & lowland plants in islands

Hooker orchis do seed in Hothouse but the Embryo has never been seen in any wild orchis! I do not grow from seed.
