Feb /56 / Hooker says that Flora of Southernmost of Laccadive like [illeg] , which same as Ægypt, & Eastern India. Western & damp side of India, same as Malayan Arch. No peculiar plants in Laccadive. This group prolonged goes up to Low land of mouth of Indus. Take all the cases of distant islds having plants in common. Mem Iceland, Faroe & Shetland. Pacific islds surely not all united. Why has Norfolk isld so much more peculiar Flora than other Pacific islds? Flora of Seychelles Hooker says best Known. Bentham says the leafless (phyllodinæ?) Acaciæ extend from Australia N. E. toward New Caledonia & N. to New Guinea, but not one found in New Zealand. Get list of New Zealand Conifers, with few individuals. Are they very distant genera?
