Forbes says that lately in Berlin's Transactions Müller has written on Amphioxis, confirms Goodsirs observ in Edinburgh Royal Transact & concludes that Amphioxis is much further from the Cyclostomes (as Myxine) that any of them are other from other fishes! upper part of inside stomach lined with vibratile ciliæ, no Brain — [illeg] eye, both ends sharp. & Goodsir remarks that it is allied to lowest of Mullusca, as Ascidiæ!!! Forbes remarked of this beautiful interbranching, no trees ever can be preserved — fossil state.
