Dr T. Strethill Wright states that las the Discophoræ (Medusæ) are of distinct sexes, but "large individuals of Chrysaora hyoscella are hermaphrodite; but smaller ones are found which are unisexual, the fem male or female element being suppressed, as in some dioecious plants."
