A great judge of Rabbits (Cottage Gardener 1861 p. 327) writes "When the young ones (of the high fancy lop-eared var) are about a month old they will begin to show their good points, & from this age till about 8 or 10 weeks, make great progress in the growth of ear; but if you find there is not much to be expected frm them in that respect, it is better to wean them at 7 or 8 weeks sooner than lose more time with the doc"- There are seven distinct points of merit in these Fancy Rabbits.
