Rennie says Male siskin pairs with hen canary & reverse often paired because progeny healthy mild & docile birds, like the siskin. only male goldfinch chaffinch & linnet pairs with hen canary & not reverse, (like Plants) so that Mr Syme (on whose authority above fact is given) thinks siskin only marked variety of canary says song inferior to canary.
