Montagus. Dict. p. 74. Bechstein in Ornith. Taschenbuch p. 304 says we may almost conclude that f. citrinella, venturous serin & serinus & serin & carduelis spinus siskin are wild originals of the cage canary. Has seen a cross between the 2 latter perfectly like green canary. Rennie believes siskin even different genus. a description here given of wild bird by Dr Heinschen.
