Possibly it will turn out important analogy— that the Ancon Sheep were produced at once & not by degrees— & that when crossed, the young either take decidedly entirely after the ancon Breed (&) ? (or) the common — Rengger says the cross between hairless dog & common seldom produces half bred dogs but one side pure— It would seem to indicate that the whole ancon structure was the result of some individually small change in early stages of fœtus.—

When Horned & Hornless cattle are crossed half horns, I believe, are not produced. — When tailless dogs & cats are crossed what is result Half & Half— In dogs, I have one case, & shepherd dog & pointer where some were tailess & others full-tailed— Allude to Henslow views about Cowslips, being change in radical form. —
