Rur Sp. p 853. — the ring & common pheasant differ in size & length tail & collar. — will interbreed & offspring fertile. — but Jardine says do not in natural state — eggs differ. — half-collared are not seen here Blaine doubts their breeding — see Jardine Nat. Lib. Pheasant & common fowls sometime cross in nature — Temmin. records cross between gold & hen common— never could produce second.

Jardine says in this race of birds as in corresponding one in Mammalia. interbreeding very common. — bosch— boschas ducks & geese & Canary birds. — Pheasant breed seldom in confinement. —
