[93]I believe this account is in Maer Encyclopædia.— either under Hybrids or sexes of Plants

In book by Linnæus 1759 I presume Dissert on sexes of Plants translated by Smith is said

If he-goat of Angora breed with common goat offspring has coat external appearance of former — if common goats copulate with same Angora offspring like former & hair valueless.— Analogous to case of Horse & Ass — Thus same law is obeyed between animals infertile ie species & animals, wh. I presume are fertile ie varieties. —

The goat case markedly differs from case of Sennaar Negro with Arab.— and this again (no doubt) with Negro & Caucasian & S. American Indian neither race nor sex gives any character.—

Try breeding Persian Cat & Rabbits with common & plants.—
