Pontic Rhod. vary in number of stamens from 11 to 17 (did not count many) – those on side of nectar are nearly abortive (perhaps this is case in wild) some filaments bear double anthers. – some filaments have no anthers (those light on organs is Passion-flower & Parnassia) & in flower-bunch (now dried) of Rhod (called 2d kind) which in characters by long pistil, several of the flowers had pistil not above half usual length & stigma rather less broad. –
In Rhod called 1st Rhod, all the stamens only about half length of pistil.
