May 14th 1862 Heterocentron roseum
Looked at seedlings. 3 fine plants of no. 2, ie fertilised by pollen of yellow-stamens & the two largest plants produced time bigger than seedlings of no. I from the crimson & the smallest of the three plants is about 15 times bigger than no I, which are all excessively minute & quite [illeg]
Then no I comes from the crimson anthers. (over)

Both sets treated in every possible way the same & always kept close together. – Grand case.
May 30th looked; the little ones have started in growth, but still most marvellous difference in size.
