Dieffenbach II/136 Apterix lays only one egg yearly from introduction of dog is now very rare. The a large & beautiful (Centropus) coocoo, has not been seen for many years, but its tail feathers have been preserved - only the oldest inhabitants have seen, attribute its destruction, from roosting on the lower branches, to the introduced cats.
