Brit. Mus. /44/ saw a wonderful carnivore from Pampas with lower canine forced into line with incisors - upper canine enormous.  Waterhouse this in Lunds hyaena!!! spoke of the large canine having drawn nutriment from lower. (Brazilian bones apparently contemp with recent fresh - water shells - cases slowly filled.) Rhinoceros from Pampas!!! (old bones in cases such as Mylodon &c gnawed by rats, as recent bones are.)
