On Mica-slate of Antrim in Ireland (described by Bryce in early Geological Proceedings?) chalk throws out & then Lias & then probably Red Sandstone, form conformable bed only a few feet thick – best example (if substantiated) of the impossibility of judging of time by appearance of strata.
