There is no law of Progression, but time wd give better chance of sports, & allow more selection; & all the organisms thus living an advantage, - as free competition of labour, - the result wd be more complicated & more perfect; but how impossible to judge of latter. And it must be particularly restricted that these remarks only apply to such forms as have been considerably modified.
