Lyell's letter. Aug. 1857 to Horner
about 1/3 of shells in Molasses extinct - also the plants in superincumbent Œningen Beds & upper F. W. Molasses believed to be extinct (& other insects said to be so in former letter)
How are land shells? they ought to be extinct.
