March 1. 1860. J Beete Jukes - says Calymene Blumenbachii which ranges from upper to lower Silurian deposits present vars in two stages so that Salter thought of naming them distinct. Jukes & Baily think the Spirifer Verneuilli is only vars & this is same with S. disjunctus & Strictus
