p 303 speaks of immense area of metamorphic rocks in Bengal (see Map

p. 306 speaks of thousands of feet in thickness of strata of most varied nature deposited in shallow water, everything favorable for preservation & occurrence of organic remains & yet none occur.

p. 308 ancient formation with great boulders

Formations divided into 3 great stages - about age of Trias & lower mesozoic - & yet no fossil except leaves of plants & few Reptile bones. Strange case of poverty of organic remains
