10° P.m. I have been looking at this Melilotus, as F. thought leaves did not go to sleep, nor do they perfectly ie. the terminal one does not approach to lateral ones closely, but they all the younger leaves (& it was younger ones which were pinned), have their surfaces more or less inclined; it is only quite old leaves which are horizontal. A considerably number of leaves are a little injured.
