Cassia mimosoides

May 28 27' & 28 1878. young plant—

Leaflets certainly do not sink beneath main petiole but rotate so as to point to apex.

I believe main petiole was at 10° 30' P.m. 27° above horizon, & next morning at 10° 45' was 19° beneath horizon.

May 28th 10° 30' P.m. petiole was 27° above horizon & during day was beneath horizon.—

Petiole rose 8° at night
