Medicago marina. Each leaflet folds inwards into a right angle, &

The 3 leaflets approach each other & bend upwards at ∟ to the petioles so as to stand vertically inclined a little inwards towards stem, & therefore pass the vertical.— When shoot is perpendicular the leaf stands parallel to it, but when shoot inclined, the leaflets bend to one side so as still to be vertical.
