Centrosema sp. from Itajahy.

Cots green, but retain almost same shape as whilst within the seed— do not move at night—

First pair of true leaves, no bloom, depend. vertically at night— Petioles rises were at 10° 30' a.m 91° together & 10° 30' P.m only 58° — so 33° nearer at night — petioles rose 16 1/2

[Movement in plants, p. 365: "Uraria (Tribe 6) and Centrosema (Tribe 8).—The leaflets of Uraria lagopus and the leaves of a Centrosema from Brazil both sink vertically down at night. In the latter plant the petiole at the same time rose 16 1/2°."]
