The tentacles of Old leaves of Drosera do not circumnutate, (though an old leaf after absorbing C. of ammonia does circumnutate as a whole), yet as observed under microscope, yet exquisitely sensitive to stimulus of absorbed meat as began to curl in in 23" after gland had been only touched by raw meat.—

The petiole of a full-grown leaf does not circumnutate, yet its filament was sensitive to touch & caused lobes to close. — When given infusion of raw meat— circumnutation commenced.

On other hand an old leaf, which was not sensitive to a touch (& of which probably the petiole was not circumnutating, yet the marginal spikes were moving & oscillating.
