Red Cabbage Apogeotropism of young seedlings with Cots

April 5' to morning of 6th Two seedlings— Right-Hand one same as yesterday.

The vertical glass was turned from light & kept with [illeg] except when observation made— Both ascended till 12° 30' & 1° 30' & then like yesterday circumnutated downwards, & then at right angles or to right & left— very only slight traces of circumnutation.

Apogeotropism acts energetically & very quickly. Even by 12° ie after 4° hypocotyls greatly inclined upwards. N. B In right hand figure the rise before 1° 30 greatly exaggerated because viewed very obliquely.
