Schizolobium. — from F. Muller
1881. Sept. 12th
First pair of leaves, each with 12 pairs of leaflets; carrying plant from Hot-house where blown by wind, caused leaflet to rotate so as to stand at high angle & to advance towards apex.—
Sleep beautifully.— leaflets rotate so as to stand vertically & move towards apex of petiole, & become a little depressed so as to point a little beneath line of arched petiole.—
Sept 13th on carrying back to hot House in morning the leaflets became oblique —
I syringed them on one leaf with tepid water, & they all became oblique & moved a little towards apex. —
The leaflets were not wetted by the syringing.─
