1873 Sept 26th Cassia leaf— under side quite silvery— upper only slightly wetted, waved in water at 81°-80 for 1m was not wetted
At 93°-92° waved about for 1m & completely wetted & no longer silvery
At 91°-90 for 1m — silvery appearance & wetting partial mottled patches alone before quite silvery
