Cassia corymbosa— Greenhouse

May 1. 74. (12°) syringed with Hot-house water for 1m leaves became reflexed inverted, & almost as if asleep, but did not touch as when (as I believe) asleep. The white (blooms?) surface is turned to stream of water. I rather suspect peduncle became depressed. did not soon recover & open leaves.

(May 2d I carried plant to Hothouse & shook it slightly all the way, leaflets become a little depressed but nothing like what occurred from syringing)
