Siegesbeckia orientalis— plants now 10-11 inches high— younger leaves on summit — between 2 & 2 3/4 in length at night greatly curved downwards— may be truly said to be asleep.— On previous & subsequent morning strictly horizontal

At the end of August when the plant had grown to a height of be 10-11 inches the younger leaves of the same length as before, now depended so much at night, that they might truly be said to sleep
