Strephium floribundum
Circumnutation & sleep of leaf.
Stem secured close to base of Leaf.
A plant 19' inches.— Yong leaf near summit 2.3 of inch in length was observed under skylight. & movements [sketch] traced on vertical glass. — Distance of apex of leaf from glass 8 1/10 of in Temp. on 26th. & 27th. of June. 23 1/2 to 24 1/2 C. so very warm. Movements remarkably simple begin to rise between 2° & 3° Pm & stands almost vertical in early night; must begin to fall very early in morning for by 6° 40' a.m had become almost horizontal & then continues falling till between 2° & 3° P.m. — Ascending & descending lines do not quit coincide.— only slightly zig-zage in descending in afternoon
