It may be worth while to state that excluding some a few genera, almost not seen almost by ourselves, & which all are a doubt & a few the leaflets of which cannot be said either to rise or to fall.— there are 37 genera in which the leave or leaflets rise more or less all morning but are at the same often being often directed either toward the apex or base of leaf, & 32 in which they sink downward. more or less Two genus marked marked species the leaves of which both rise & sink at night.
In 2 of the genera, som includes in this number, viz Sida & fern the leaves of some species rose & of other fall sink at night.
