Mirabilis longiflora & Jalapa — First pair of leaves above Cots. [illeg] seedling plants of both these sp. are considerably divergent during day & at night stood very vertically & were quite shut & vertical

An older pair of leaves was almost horizontal & dry & at night stood vertically, but was not closed, owing to the bud in centre
