Mimosa albida

Sept 17th. 1877

These rudiments seem to undergo no movement as might be expected. The little reduced leaves not only sleep, but are in slight movement during the day & as we know are strongly heliotropic— If a pair of this kind were rendered rudimentary, we shd have such short rudiments as we find them & on principle that rudiments do not disappear, there wd not be nearly so great a difference between the rudiments, as between the large & small leaf
