July 31. 1881. Put out youngish plant of Mimosa pudica into moderately heavy rain Temp 62°— Leaflets closed & leaves fell— when visited again after 30' leaflet almost fully expanded, except on uppermost very young leaf– — Leaflets dry, except many little spheres of water adhering to edge hairy edge of leaflets.—
