Movement of young stems (or petioles ) (for bear flowers); 10 inches high at close of observations with glass fixed transversely beneath crown of elongated leaves. Traced by F. on Horizontal glass, illuminated from above — It is scarcely possible to say how much magnified, for the stem grew so rapidly the mark had to be brought nearer several 2 or 3 times. It is clear from tracing that it circumnutates for it made circle during the day time of each 24°. —
