Hybrid Between R idaeus & an American Rubus.—

Rubus Circumnutation

Glass filament fixed to stem horizontal glass – Plant in a box lighted from above & covered with brown paper—

In my room with fire. Magnifying power 30 to 60 times but rather doubtful & variable.

Height of Plant 11 inches

As we had happen to have in a pot a young pl. 11 inch f or higher growing vigorously in a pot, raised from a cross between the raspberry R. i. & a N. American Rubus we subjected it to observation in the usual manner. In the morning of March 14th the stem made almost completed a circle & then move far to the right but the movement was too much exaggerated, & At By 4° P.m on this day, (14') the stem had reversed its movement course, & a fresh tracing was begun, & which was continued.
