Fastened 2 Heads in orchard upside down— cutting off all withered flowers to see whether turning due to geotro apogeotrop & or epinasty—. 9th they have turned up through Heliotropism; or apogtr so little sub-peduncle very sensitive— The same fact occurred under skylight.— 9° 4° P.m put blackened & [illeg] pots over, the above 2 resting on bricks, so some light enter below to see if flower will turn down.
