Acanthus spinosus

In a young plant with 2 first leaves almost equally developed, the angle formed between them struck the eye is less at night, than in middle of day.— The difference depending chiefly or exclusively on the straightening & rising of the blade at night, & not on movement of the petiole— The angle measured from apex apices of the 2 leaf to base of petioles ground & axis of plant being 54° [-] 33 [=] 21 at noon & only 33° at 10° 15 P.m.
