Nov 20 & 21. /77/ Ipomœa nil

Plant 3 1/2 inches high— Second internode above Cots. observed [sketch] in darkness & traced on Horizontal glass. Tracing magnified only 4.3 times— Greatest diameter of Tracing only 1 inch. Therefore extreme movement only 4.3/1 of inch. But as plant was observed in room at temp. of generally 56°, probably wd have moved more.— Certainly nutated, when observed in this manner, but I think not nearly so much as the seedling with Cots. — Judged by unassisted eye wd be said, as I stated not to nutate.
