Cotyledons Primula Sinensis 1877
Oct. 13 Stem secured to stick fresh Plantlet. [sketch] Rectangular pointed paper fixed to one Cotyledon. Distance of vertical glass, to pin-head behindpointed paper 5 4/8 inches— distance between apex of paper & pin head 3/16 of inch.— The diagram show course; first from 8º 52 fell end of nocturnal movement, (not that the cot. properly go to sleep); then zig-zagged until 12º. 54', afterward rose greatly, till 6º 25 when out of glass. There cd have none or excessively little nutation for tied up very near base of Cots. Comparing this diagram with those formerly made, hardly a doubt of nutation of stem.
