Cotyledons Primula Sinensis 1877

Oct. 13 Stem secured to stick fresh Plantlet. [sketch] Rectangular pointed paper fixed to one Cotyledon. Distance of vertical glass, to pin-head behindpointed paper 5 4/8 inches— distance between apex of paper & pin head 3/16 of inch.— The diagram show course; first from 8° 52 fell end of nocturnal movement, (not that the cot. properly go to sleep); then zig-zagged until 12°. 54', afterward rose greatly, till 6° 25 when out of glass. There cd have none or excessively little nutation for tied up very near base of Cots. Comparing this diagram with those formerly made, hardly a doubt of nutation of stem.
