Tomato

Oct 24. Observed nutation of stems of 2 plants on dark on Horizontal glass [sketch] an older Plant seedling — left Hand, Tracing A, magnified about 35.1 times.

A younger seedling right-hand Tracing B magnified about 44.8 times.

Between 8° 10' a.m. & 10° both plants nutated (as shown by feeble pencil lines at commencement of tracing); but at 10° 3' real tracing began, as I magnified it more. Nutation rapid for both plants in course of 7° moved thrice in one direction & thrice in a more or less opposite one. No doubt about nutation of stems.
